Not being much of an SSB operator I had to look, but in the current QST they
have a chart that says that the Advanced segment is still there and out of
bounds for the Generals.

According to the June 2002 QST (pg 60):

14.150-14.175 Extra only

14.175-14.225 Extra & Advanced only.

14.224-14.350 Extra, Advanced and General.

According to that chart, General class licensees have restricted access to
the phone portion of all of the HF bands except 10, 12 and 17 meters.

Now I remember why I upgraded to Extra back in the 70's. Those sub-band
limits were driving me batty!
