GM Stephen:

>I noticed many of the NPO capacitors are marked "470", as opposed to simply
>"47". These are the same thing, correct?

Correct... most (if not all) capacitor manufacturers have migrated to a
nomenclature scheme which more closely follows the resistor marking scheme
in use for decades... the first two digits indicate the significant digits,
with the last digit being the multiplier (number of zeros following the
significant digits).

>Also, C200, C212, C218 (NPO 150) are supposed to be marked "#21 ASD" on the
>back. Can they have different markings on the back (I believe that mine
>do).

Yes... all depends upon the vendor. Try to follow the component pictures
and the literal part description as much as possible, but sometimes a
vendor will change and the printed nomenclature may shift a bit.

ALSO, note that very small value caps, such as 2.7pF, will generally be
marked as "2R7", the "R" being used to replace the decimal point. We've had
numerous occasions where the ink of the "R" becomes a bit smeared and
builders will accidently mistake the "R" for an "8", thus identifying the
device as "287", which doesn't fit any of the component values in the kit.
