I'm not familiar with the MC-50, but if it uses an old-style 4-pin
connector (similar to today's 8-pin mike connectors), Kenwood's wiring
scheme for the 4-pin connector is:
Pin 1 = Mic audio
Pin 2 = PTT
Pin 3 = PTT ground
Pin 4 = Mic audio ground
If the MC-80 comes with a "standard" 8-pin connector, then just use the
pinouts for Kenwood described on page 18 of the KSB2 manual.
Older Kenwood rigs had a high-Z mic audio input (50k ohms), whereas the
K2 is a low-Z (600 ohms) input. If the MC-50 has a built-in transformer
to change a low-Z mike element into high-Z mic audio, you'll have to
rewire the mike element to go directly to the K2 mic audio input
(bypassing any built-in transformer).
