From what I understand, there are great transverter kits available from
Downeast Microwave.  I really wonder is there is the market to justify
another company entering the fray.  Of course, as someone who might BUY a
transverter kit, I would like some competition, but really am not sure
that this would make buisness sense for Elecraft.  I would like it if DEM
could make their enclosures look better, like Elecraft does, but
everything I have heard about their performance is first rate.

I am quite surprized that a separate transverter PORT option that accesses
a low level TX signal so that the user would not have to worry about an
attenuator as well as saving power by not running the finals hasn't come
out yet.
