I can't say enough good things about Baudline. It has a very nice 
waterfall and time-domain scope, along with a "peak frequency" realtime 
readout, so you may not need to pot the cursor at the peak in question.

It also has a very function-rich audio signal generator on the putput 
side, along with the ability to mix the signal generator output with the 
input signal on the display.

It is, of course, Linux-only.
