Hello:
I'm at the point where I align the transmitter and I'm getting some strange
power output figures. According to the archives, most of the output power
problems appeared on 10 meters. My problem is on the other end of the
spectrum - 80 meters. Despite redoing T4, uninstalling and reinstalling the
LPF toroids for 80 meters and making sure the are tinned properly, the max
output I can obtain on 80 meters is 2 watts (on 3750 kHz). The capacitors
in the LPF are also correct. My power figures are the following:
80M - 2 watts
40M - 8.7 watts
30M - 18 watts
20M - 15.8 watts
17M - 16.4 watts
15M - 14.5 watts
12M - 16 watts
10M - 16 watts
Can somebody lead me in the right direction to get this evened out ? I had
thought that the LPF elements of 40/80 meters were possibly at fault, but I
can see nothing wrong. I must add that a 2.2 ohm resistor is presently
tacked in at R50 in the driver circuit until I get another 3 ohm resistor.
I managed to blow it by accidently shorting the collector and emitter of Q6
with my DVM probe ! Doh !
Anyway I need to get back on the right track.
Little help please ...
Thanks, Jamie
