Oh, OK, thanks for that.  Not knowing the first thing about micros, 
I'll work with that freq detector chip from K1EL instead and make an 
external amp run as a standalone block.

One of these days, honest, I'm going to learn how to make a micro do 
something.  I still won't use one but I'll know how...:-)
