The external meter is still reading the UNMATCHED SWR.

The 'matched' SWR exists ONLY between the output of the KAT1 and the INPUT 
to the K1.

The act of tuning the KAT1 changes nothing on the coax or the antenna... 
just that which is 'seen' by the K1.

So... yes, you SHOULD expect to see two entirely different SWR readings 
when comparing the SWR as displayed by the K1 and that displayed by the 
external meter.
