Yeah, my resistors for S/N 1289 were all provided in tapes ready to put in
the automatic stuffing machine, so all I had to do was peel 'em off in order
and stick them in the boards.

Maybe  that's long past now. I don't mind working with small parts, but the
person who chose the protective coating to go over the color codes on
resistors hates us electronic types. Even with a big magnifier I am usually
not sure of red vs. orange or blue vs. green. The ohmmeter got a workout!
