[Elecraft] K2 - RF board R60 -- what's it for?

This is incorrect.

R60 remains at full CCW whether or not the SSB adapter is installed.
Setting it higher will do nothing but increase the idle TX current draw
and PA heat dissipation, with no increase in PEP output or reduction of
IMD.

The optimum setting of R60 for the 2SC1969 PAs is fully CCW.
