Hi All:
I concur with Ron. Spacing in CW is more important, to my way of
thinking, that speed. I can listen non-stop to someone who makes it
clear when a word begins or ends. The great benefit to iambic keying is
that it woos you into the proper spacing of dots and dashes. It also
keeps you from getting into a kind of swinging gate with sending that so
often happens with the Vibroplex. So often I hear ops with VERY long
dashes and difficult to separate dots. The Schurr Prof 2 is a well
established, top of the line, iambic paddle. It is difficult to beat.
The G4ZPY is equally good but the manufacturer has had health problems
that delay shipment. It is, however, very reasonably priced and the
manufacturer is personable guy. I didn't like the Bencher. But that is
the nature of CW operation. Personal preference rules. My suggestion is
that you stick with iambic keying. It will bless the station you're
working.
