[Elecraft] K1 Alignment and Test

Building the K1, I am now performing the Alignment and Test, Part I (Page 
36).  All tests went perfect until I got to the Keyer test.  I plugged a 
Bencher paddle with necessary stereo plug into (J3) as directed.  The readout 
at this point reads E42 which is normal.  When I Tap Menu, I get "Out" and 
unable to obtain the required "INP."  Taping the Menu again, it returns to 
E42.  Am I missing something?

FYI, the keyer is keying however at this point the dots/dashs are reversed.

Any help information will be greatly appreciated.
