[Elecraft] HELP-High current drain on receive-low voltage on 8V and 5V

While building K2 number 2471 everything had tested out OK thru all secti=
ons
when completing the RF board. Even had good resistance checks on Page 68 =
of
the K2 manual. Followed all intructions step by step in putting sides, fr=
ont
panel,control board, bottom,and heat sink together. Went to Alignment and=

Test, Part III section and when applying power and checking current drain=
 on
receive discovered the drain to be 5.10 amps. checked voltage on 8V and 5=
V and
found them to be 5.68V and 2.38V. dis-assembled the K@ and spent 1 hr eac=
h of
2 evenings with a head magnifyer looking for shorts, cold solder joints, =
and
for obviously damaged parts. Corrected what I thought might be shorts, bu=
t
found no obviously damaged parts.
  Put K2 back together again and still found the same excessive current d=
rain
on receive. HELP! HELP!
  Do not rightly know where to look next. Are there any partsby identific=
ation
that could explain my problems. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
