[Elecraft] Scope Prescaler?

Hi

I think you have the function of a prescaler a little confused. Prescaler=
s are typically used with counters and are some form of counter divider c=
ircuit. They take a analog input shape it into a pulse and divide it down=
to a lower frequency square wave for the counter. The output waveform ha=
s no relationship to the input waveshape. If you put a prescaler in front=
of a scope the only thing you will see is a square wave at the divided f=
requency. =20

Bandwidth is a function of the amplifiers in the scope. I don't know of a=
nything you can put in front of a analog scope to increase the bandwidth =
(there are methods to acquire the waveform digitally and then display on =
a low frequency scope. This is how digital scopes work but they are not r=
eal time.) =20

BTW There is a lot of confusion about bandwidth. If you need to see and m=
easure 60 mhz you will need a 100 mhz or higher scope. A scopes bandwidth=
is measured at the 3db point so if you measure 1 volt at 60 mhz on a 60 =
mhz scope the reading will be .707 volts.

Hi guys.
Does anyone know of a kit (hopefully) scope prescaler. I have a B&K 10mhz
scope that I need to take to at least 60mhz.
I've been searching the net, but no luck.
