Not to be pulling your leg, but I have four full-size wire dipoles in my
attic for 80, 40, 30 and 20 meters, all fed with a single RG-213 coax
through a 1:1 balun. Inverted-Vee configuration with the center probably 30
feet above the ground.
The 80-meter dipole works well for short-distance contacts and some DX.
I fear that your question by definition has no answer since you specify an
oxymoron: "efficient indoor antenna that works on 80 meters."
Sorry, but Dan has the right idea. Anything done to reduce size also
reduces efficiency, radiation resistance and bandwidth.
