[Elecraft] Internal Battery Drain

Has anyone had the experience of the internal K2 battery draining with 
the rig off and no external power source supplying trickle charge?  I 
had the K2 disconnected from my power supply for a couple of months, and 
the rig was not used.  When I turned it on without the power supply, the 
battery was obviously low.  In fact it was down to about 7.8 volts.  I 
don't know what brought it down there, since the rig was not being used, 
and the battery had a full charge when I removed the power supply.  Any 
ideas?  Could the computer I/O be draining current?  It was left 
connected to the computer during this time. (My Kenwood TS-570D had that 
problem, if you left it connected to the computer, it drained the 
internal lithium battery even when the rig was off).
