Use RG/8 and the KAT2.  100 ft of RG/8 has about 1 db loss at 30 MHz when the
SWR is 1:1, so 18 ft. would be about 0.18 db.  Eyeballing the chart in the ARRL
antenna book shows that the additional loss due to an SWR of 20:1 would be only
about 1.5 db or so!  And this is 30 MHz.; there will be less loss at lower
frequencies.  Of course the 9.9:1 could mean 100:1, so I'm sure some bands will
work better than others.

Loops seem to work well when fed with coax without a balun.  I say 'go for it'!
