[Elecraft] Help! I killed my K2.

I am building the SSB module and the receive worked fine until I took off the 
front panel board and installed the few parts for the mic connection.  When I 
put it back together and powered up the display read "EL" and there is no 
sound and no buttons work.  The first 5 bars of the S meter flash on and off. 
 

I have taken it back apart, reassembled, checked for shorts, checked to be 
sure the plugs were mating properly, etc., but find nothing wrong.  It is a 
wet and dreary day here so there is no static electricity.  I have a 2n2222 
left over.  I got 4 with my kit and I think that is a "gift" to do the SSB 
filter mode (which I have not attempted yet).

Any ideas?
