[Elecraft] K2 transmit audio distortion

I still use a $5 computer headset/mike combo. I never had a bad transmit =
audio report, especially after using Spectrogram for #609's filter =
alignment.=20

Years ago I noticed appalling audio distortion on an SSB signal from VK. =
But several hams who knew the operator told me that it was not =
distortion - that was his real voice. His SSB quality was actually very =
good. So before deciding the audio is crappy, maybe you need to check =
the voice ...=20

A long shot maybe worth a try - could there be RF feedback ???  Is the =
crappy audio still there when the K2 is firing into a dummy load ? If =
not, then maybe its time to look at the antenna and grounding.
