[Elecraft] re noisy AF pot

It is on the Elecraft Builders Resources page under K2 AF Pot
Application Note.

I was considering this mod, however, since it was only at the lowest 3 -
5 degrees of rotation I put it off.  Recently had to replace the MCU due
to a nearby lightning strike and the new MCU (LATEST VERSION that
supports the KPA100) fixed it.  I would replace the MCU rather than
cut-up the K2 PCB.

Hello all,
            recently I have seen some reference made to noisy AF pots
and a subsequent mod that is a fix. Can someone please point me in the
direction of this mod  as I have a very "scratchy" AF pot  ( around
minimum gain) and I assumed it was a faulty pot.  I have been looking
for  a replacement. 
I know there is a mod to reduce the audio break-through  at minimum AF
setting  but this really doesn't bother me.  Are these mods one and the
same?  All help appreciated.
On a different topic:  I have recently read operators reports on "crappy
(?)" Tx audio.  I use a kenwood hand mic and regularly receive
unsolicited reports of excellent audio.  I have come across several K2s
on air and they have all sounded great!
