Lightning Arrestor/Secondary Circuit Breaker

QSA2020 Lightning Arrestor from Siemens Energy and 
Automation, Inc.
The QSA2020 is available from local electrical supply
companies.

The QSA2020 takes the place of two standard-size circuit
breakers and acts as a lightning surge arrestor for the
breaker panel.  In theory,  any lightning surge from the power
lines to the circuit breakers is protected at the entrance and 
protects all the house wiring.  Does not protect from direct hits.
I also disconnect all power cords to computer and ham equipment
physically when thunderstorms are nearby.  Ditto for the telephone
cable to the modem on the computer, and for antenna coaxial cables.
