On my current trip to Europe, with my trusty K1-4 in
the suitcase as always, it sustained some damage
because the bags were obviously manhandled a little
more than usual. The tuning knob received a knock
which fratured the tuning pot. Fortunately a few drops
of crazy glue will provide a temporary fix until I can
install a new pot. (I am still in Europe and got a 599
yesterday from JA using just my MP1 antenna clamped to
the hotel window - wow !)
Here's the question: does any of you have the tools to
manufacture a metall bracket that protects the front
panel and is attached using the screws for the KTS1?
Unfortunately the short support arms of the KTS1 are
too short to fold it in front of the K1 for protection,
and the long arms leave a lot of space between the
bottom of the KTS1 and the front panel.
In essence I'm looking for a sturdy u-shaped bracket,
with the height of the K1, that attaches using the KTS1
screws and sits snug in front of the K1 front panel.
