Greetings again,
Finished up my pa100 on Thursday affter getting a new core to replace the
one that disintegrated while winding it. The rig fired right up and works
fabulously! Easy over 100 watts out on ALL bands even though the barefoot
K@ puts out less than 6 watts on 10Meters. Don't know why can't get 10
watts on ten but no problem getting 100W on ten with the PA100. The only
problem I had(other than too much muscle in winding the cores) was
apparently a cockpit problem, I think. When it came to test the manual
activation of the HILO fan and Hi Fan, I couldn't get the fan to turn on at
all. Everything seemed t chec ou so I letft it and went on. Later during
the power out tests the fan WAS working automatically. I then went back to
the menu and was able to turn it on and off correctly. I must have had a
mode or something set wrong. Works great now!
I have to add my comments on what a great system this is! I have never seen
a kit that everything fit so well before. My first kit was a DX100 back in
1954 and a lot of others since. A helluva lot of work went into this design
and it shows. I'm extremely happy with it and the service I've received.
I've had QSO's on 40m and 15M so far with very good reports.
Thanks again to all for their help.
