The metal pole "may" affect all three types of line, balanced or coax.  This
is because the Windom type antenna is not inherently balanced and the coax
may have current induced from the unequal flat top upon the outside of the
shield.

Now, balanced lines will not couple to any appreciable degree if you use a 5
or 6 inch TV standoff or longer PVC pipe standoff from the mast.  Drill a
hole thru half inch or 3/4 inch pvc for a hose clamp to go around the mast
and thru the holes in pvc.  Make those up to a foot long, and you will have
the balanced line work fine.  For the TV standoffs, or electric fence wire
standoffs (about 6 inches is standard size),  available at Home Depot and
Lowes, also twist the parallel lines every 18 inches to lessen coupling
effect to nearby metal.  There is slight difference in 300 ohm and 450 ohm
coupling as these are nominal impedances and actual impedance can vary.
