[Elecraft] FW: K1 T-R "pop" but only with paddle?

Hi, folks. I have a K1 in the serial 10XX range, with the 4 band filter
board, ATU, and noise blanker. I've installed the "QSK THUNK" mod found at:

http://www.elecraft.com/Apps/K1_qsk_app_note.htm

and note that I am hearing t-r audio popping with the rig.
(I have not removed the mod to see if it was there before
the mod; I don't remember.)

It is interesting to note that it happens on all bands, with the worst being
15m. Power out makes no difference - happens at 5W and at at zero (P=0)!
T-R delay also does not matter, though I have my K1 set for 30 mS.

Also, it does NOT exhibit the pop if I am transmitting from the internal
keyer
memory! It only pops if I use paddles! Has anyone experienced this? The pop
occurs at the leading edge of the dit or dah.

Anyone seen this? Any ideas on a fix?

I am posting it to the List because it is strange that it does
not happen when using the keyer memory. Perhaps the keyer holds
the T-R circuitry differently than when operating with paddles,
and does not release it until the memory has been emptied?
