[Elecraft] CW Zero-Beat Indicator Sensitivity Trouble

I've built Sverre Holm's zero-beat indicator (updated KR5L design) for my K2
and am having trouble with the sensitivity.  No matter what value I use for
R5 (I'm using a 500k pot) the indicator turns on at a sidetone level of 102
and off at 98.  With no R5 the circuit triggers at 108.   This is
significatly higher than what the circuit should trigger.  I should be able
to get the circuit to trigger with a sidetone as low as 9 or 10.  Has anyone
else built this circuit and had similar problems?
