Ah, now you are talking about my favorite antenna, the W3EDP end fed wire!
As described in the book Practical Wire Antennas by John D. Heyes G3BDQ, it
is an omni-directional wire antenna 85 feet in length with a 17 foot
counterpoise that is connected on some bands.
With the exception of 15 meters, it loads easily on 80-10 meters with my
KAT2. I do tune the 'poise with an MFJ Artificial Ground, but supposedly
this is not necessary.
The antenna requires no special earthing arrangements and can wend its way
around a piece of property as needed.
