Hi,
I have my K2 for almost 3 years. It has the SSB option; the microphone
jumpers
were wired for a Kenwood microphone. The radio seems to work pretty well
with
the MC43 microphone (stock TS850 hand microphone), but I don't use SSB
that much on the K2 because 10W on SSB did work well for me so I ended up
using the TS850S for SSB operation. I completed the FT KPA100 a couple
weeks ago and have a pretty good time playing with SSB on my K2 and the
MC43 mic. Seeing that the 100W really makes big difference on SSB, I
decided
to disconnect the MC60 desk microphone from the TS850 and connected it
to the K2 (The MC60 has a microphone amplification circuit, may be it
would
help with the K2 signal) But as soon as I pressed the PTT button on the
MC60,
the K2 went dead (it was not transmitting nor receiving) I had to power
down
the K2 to get the receiver back. I tried the MC60 a few more times to
make
sure that the problem was not something I had done. Then I reconnected
the
MC43 mic back to the K2, everything worked just as before.
I remembered reading the reflector a couple weeks ago about someone
having problem with the MC60 and the K2. How was that problem solved?
