Well, so much for the Heli-Coil idea....
I wonder if there would be enough room to do a little machine work and fit a
threaded insert of some kind? Perhaps drill a hole in the channel and expoxy in
a piece of threaded stuff? If electrical conductivity is not important, you
could fill the channel with JB Weld and then drill and tap a hole at the proper
location. Use a nylon screw to make it easy on the epoxy....
Or...Take the sink to a welding shop and have them heli-arc the channel, file
the bead flush, then drill and tap....

I'm out of ideas for the night....
