Hi Tim,
I know, you are 100% correct, but for the cost of the K2 I expect something
to go 'clunk' when I put it on the table. I would prefer a larger case, just
simply to get inside a bit more easily. I have a good degree as an
Electronic Engineer and am quite capable of building the K2, but want an
Eddystone-sized rig for the shack :-)
Anyway, I'll take what comes. The reason I will be buying the K2 is because
of the Rx performance, also it's 'real' radio.
Assuming the K2-Commander is roughly the same as the FT-817 Commander then I
agree that I will not need to touch the rig much.
My aim would be to have a beta of the software by Jan 1st 2003. Peter Halpin
who helped with testing of the FT-817 Commander and now helps with support
has already ordered his K2. It's just up to me to get my act together.
