[Elecraft] Thanks re 817 & K2 audio

Tim,
Ideally you'd use a low-level signal source (1 microvolt) and compare
the audio output level. Most builders don't have a calibrated source,
though, so this is tricky. You could build one that is not calibrated,
but produces X volts RMS indicated on the AC volts scale of your DMM,
then send the unit to another K2 owner for comparison. Or you could wait
for Elecraft to offer a calibrated 1-microvolt crystal oscillator kit ;)
No matter how you do the comparison, make sure you're using the same
test conditions:
- AGC off
- same preamp setting
- spcified band, mode, frequency
- same filter bandwidth, and known good BFO setup (test at pitch of
filter peak)
