I couldn't agree more with you, Paul.  Once it was amazing to talk with
someone in Europe or make a phone call from a handheld.  Now that's
common.  But just because we can buy lots of fish doesn't mean no one
goes fishing.  No one goes sailing just to get from place to place.  People
sail and fish for the simple beauty and pleasure of it.  Many who sail or 
fish find the simpler and lighter the better.  Ask a fly fisherman.  A little 
box and a piece of wire at each end is all it takes to talk across the world.
That's how our hobby appeals to me.
