If you can build a K1, you can build a K2; it just has more
parts and takes longer, but is no more difficult. I recommend
that you try a less overwhelming kit first, like the WM-2 QRP
wattmeter or the 100 watt dummy load, both available from
Oak Hills Research (http://www.ohr.com). Both are excellent
first-time kits and will be indispensible when you build your
K1 or K2 later on. The wattmeter is perfect for the transmitter
alignments, and the dummy load provides a nice, stable 50
ohm load. I have built both and love them.
