Thanks to all who replied about my digital "atomic" clock request. On
the advice of a couple of them, I went to the local Wal-Mart and happily
saw that they had them there for $12.96 + tax (no Sam's Club anywhere
near here).

I bought the Oregon-Scientific model RM103A from Wal-Mart, which can
display in 24-hour format and has the abilitiy to offset the time display
+/- 9 hours and has date display -- ideal for a ham shack application. I
manually set the time to within about 10 seconds of 10 MHz WWV's time
announcement and it only took about 2 minutes to synchronize the time
exactly.

I then removed the AA battery that came with the clock and installed a AA
alkaline battery. I left the clock at its initial power-up setting of
12:00:00, January 1, 2000 to see how long it would take to synchronize
After waiting about 30 minutes, it hadn't synchronized yet (the
instructions say that it can take up to 72 hours to synchronize from a
cold start) so I just manually set it to close to the correct time and
date and it synchronized within a few minutes.

The clock is now sitting atop my K2 displaying very accurate time and
date in 24-hour UTC format.
