[Elecraft] Installing K2 Remote

Some of you who installed the KPA100 may be curious about using your computer 
with your K2/100.  For those like me who know little about how to go about 
it, I am passing on to you what I found out.  To install the K2 Remote 
Program,  Click on K2 Information in the blue left column of the Elecraft 
home page.  Scroll to almost the bottom of page to K2 Remote and K2 Voice 
software.  Click on this and scroll down until you come to the K2 Remote 
panel display.  Right above you will see two Microsoft Installer Engine 
programs.  Click on the appropriate installer and download.  Mine was 
identified as instmsiA  Then scroll up until you see the K2 Remote 
Installation Program without the installer engine and download this.  Mine 
was identified as k2rmt_setupsm.  The installer must be downloaded first. 
I downloaded the wrong K2 Remote Program that included the installer.  It 
would not completely download.  I went into system programs and found it 
identified as k2rmt_setup (without the sm) and deleted it.  
I just wanted to pass this along because the information is not in sequence 
on the web page.  Thanks to all who responded to me while I tried to get the 
program to work.  Your input was very much appreciated.  The one caution 
above all that most of  you mentioned was to use the cable supplied made up 
for this application.  Any other cable might cause real trouble.  Thanks
