[Elecraft] Another K1 Comes to Life

I am pleased to announce that K1 #1256 has been born and came to life
in great form last night.

The kit was completed a few days ago but, I had not been able to receive
any signals - even for tuning.  With limited equipment for troubleshooting,
I contacted the "master" and QRP engineer extriodinaire, Frank Nance,
W6MN and sought his assistance.  Frank call me yesterday evening and
in the background was W1AW's broadcast on 40m loud and clear.  Frank
said, "I just plugged everything in and turned it on and this is what I
heard".

So, somewhere along the line, I missed something.  But, it was likely the
magic touch of the master himself that brought it to life.... :)  Frank is
now
fine tuning the radio for me and when it comes home, will likely sit most
prominently on the radio desk where it will also get plenty of use for years
to come.

Thanks Elecraft for a neat and robust little kit.  It was a joy to build and
will be a greater joy to use. Next comes the list of mods that I may do for
better performance once it's present performance is evaluated.  Likely, I
will do none. :)
