The method I use is to connect the K2's FCTR probe AND my counter
(simultaneously) to TP3. Then, I merely crank of C22 until the K2 display
reads the same as that of the external counter.
A final CAL PLL (with the FCRT probe now in TP2) and I'm done.

Probably so, but that's gilding the lilly, esp. since the K2's frequency
stability is not adequate to hold that accuracy more than a short while.
You'd need a REALLY TCXO to even come close to approaching that level or
accuracy over an extended period of time

Unfortunately, I've not yet tried the CHU/WWV method.
