If you don't have a frequency counter, the best way to calibrate the 4
MHz oscillator on the control board is to use your station receiver and
adjust C22 on the control board so that the oscillator is at 4000.000 kHz
as monitored on your station receiver.

Although C22 can be adjusted (along with CAL PLL) to calibrate the VFO
dial, this is NOT the recommended method of setting the 4 MHz oscillator.
 If the oscillator is not exactly at 4000.000 kHz, the K2's built-in
frequency counter will not be accurate.

Adjust it the proper way and accept whatever slight VFO error which might
exist.  Because of the drift of the PLL REF and BFO oscillators, the VFO
dial error will vary with temperature anyway.
