[Elecraft] Using MixW with the K2/100

Greetings one and all,

I just got the KIO2 cable finished and working fine with a "Terminal
Program". It sees the data from the K2 and the K2 responds properly when I
send to it. I tried KY cqcqcq; and the rig keyed up and sent CQCQCQ. So
far, so good! I had previously downloaded MixW as it was highly recommended
to me. I configured evrything by the book. It does display the band and
frequency readout of the K2 properly. I am not trying to do any digital
communications with it. I just want to use it to log with and to use it to
send CQ's and my call and simple stuff like that in CW via the RS232 cable.
I know there is no problem with the cable as it works great with a terminal
program. When I try the "CQ" macro button it appears to be working in every
respect except that the K2 does NOT key. The text goes across the screen at
the speed of the characters, they are the correct characters but no keying.
I'm certain that the Baud rate is 4800, N=8, No parity, 2 stop bits, etc are
all correct. That is also verified by the on screen display tracking the
frequency of the K2 as i turn the vfo knob. I am not using any of the audio
features of MixW yet. The only cable between my PC and the K2 is the RS232
cable. Do I have to create my own macros to get this to work?

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has successfully used this program.
It seems to be a very powerful program. I have 15 days to decide if i want
it or not without paying for it. If anyone is successfully using this and
wouldn't mind a call from me on the land line I'd appreciate their phone
number. I am in So. California. Otherwise, email to the reflector might be
enough to get me past this.

TIA

73's,
