I am kinda scared to put the K2 together. It will probably be a hack job.
I have put components onto a board in another kit and I found that I am
pretty good at it. The part I am concerned with is the putting the wrong
part in the wrong place. I guess taking an inventory will help with that.
And taking my time

Hi Jason

Don't worry about it. Just follow the instructions and you will end up with a
great radio. The inventory is more important to familiarize yourself with the
parts than about finding any missing parts. I have built six Elecraft radios
and I have never had a missing part. The printing on some of the capacitors
is a little hard to read. I have misread one or two but, I caught my mistake
when I came to a later step and could not find the capacitor. A quick check
of the parts list and the board and I found I had put a 104 where a 103
should be.

Taking your time is important. Make sure you read and understand each
instruction before you install the part. Double check everything. Don't work
on it too long at a time.
