Wayne - your idea is very good. I much prefer the light bar approach. If
the space is available, I would make it a menu addition, and offer 3 states
for the right bar - 1) no action when in split, 2) right bar lit when in
split mode and 3) right bar blinking when in split mode.
<p>To be effective it *has* to be obnoxious, at least for me. When I am
operating, I do not spend much time looking at the display - my eyes go
into neutral focus and I pay little attention to visual input until I need
to see the frequency or something like that.
<p>While you are at it, if there is enough space to add another feature
I would value, and that is to allow me to program PF1 or PF2 to go into
the mode where I enter a frequency using the key pad, instead of having
to press both the BAND + and BAND - buttons simultaneously.
<p>I know - I know - I'm greedy.
<p>But I really do appreciate your willingness to revisit the code.
