Cool! I'd like that. I cover all the radios and fly somewhere at night =
with stopwatch and whiskey compass every now and then too. But don't ask =
me about my Straight Keying. It really sucks!
btw: Anybody know a CW reader that's a lot more forgiving than CW-Get? =
I'd like to practice (off-the-air) and have some idea how it's doing. I =
can send pretty solid copy (by CW-Get, test mode, sidetone level up a =
bit) with my Bencher, but the inconsistent element spacings on my =
straight key (also a Bencher - REALLY beautiful) flummox the program =
fairly well. I don't think it's THAT unreadable, but I do need more =
practice, and I do better with some more positive feedback. A more =
forgiving CW Reader program might just be encouraging enough that I =
could take that Y-adapter out of my K2 and plug in only one key! (Damn =
hard to get 2 diodes and all in that tiny plug - whatever happened to =
1/4" hardware?)

Yes, it IS possible to extract a cube root with pencil and paper. It's=20
similar to the manual square root process, but you group the numbers in=20
threes instead of twos. I read it in an old book called the Lincoln=20
Library of Essential Information. (Sorry, I don't remember the exact=20
procedure, but I'll look for it if you like.)
