Definately a good laugh on that!!!! BTW...what is the wind speed
survival of the DK9SQ at highway speeds??? hihihihi.

The DK9SQ and the 40-10m loop kit they sell works GREAT with the K2!=20
I just received mine yesterday and set it up after work .... temps at
24deg F. K2 tuner matched it up on everything..(do not have the 160
installed). Proceeded to work plenty of DX with it. Great portable
set up and may even use the loop kit as a semi permenant ant at home
and just take it down when I want to go camping and such. Takes all
of about 5 min.

This past weekend was a tailgate in ABQ, NM. I set up my K2 with the
DK9SQ mast mounted on the van-camper trailer hitch and a ten meter
loop pulled to one side making a right triangle. I used a homebrew
4:1 balun made with help from W1CG. KAT-2 made short work of it.=20
Had no trouble working everything I could hear in Europe, dozens of
QSO's.

My purpose was to demo CW for new comers to ham radio, and certainly
drew plenty of attention from such people. Most had NEVER seen CW
actually being operated. They expressed amazement, were startled
that neither I nor other kibitzers standing around reading the mail
were "sweating to copy" and many allowed themselves to be coerced
into sitting down and making a few dots and dashes with the keyer.=20
People were also startled to notice there was no power cable, but
rather an internal battery ;-) A particularly bright one wondered if
the pole fit under over-passes, but that is besides the point.

I encourage others to make such events into an opportunity to demo
CW. It will sell itself, but people need to be exposed to it.

P.S. Could have sold Elecraft kits and telescoping masts had I had a
stock of them ;-)
