Welcome to the group.

The K1 and K2 use a 5.5 x 2.1 mm coaxial power plug, center positive.  One is
supplied in the kits.

Power supplies can range from 9V up to 15V,  12V or 13.8V  are the most usual.
At 5 watts my K1 draws .85 to .96 Amp depending on band. It draws a max of 1.4 A
on 30 meters with 12V in.  I've used a number of different supplies but have
found that all the small switchers I've tried produced some hash when using
close in, portable antenna setups.

I just built a little linear supply that uses an unregulated DC wallwart and
houses the regulator and associated components in the area normally occupied by
the internal batteries. It's great for traveling.  I've also used the internal
battery option with 1800 mAH NiMH batteries.

I use my K1 in the shack and on motorcycle trips (and even air mobile) but use
it most often from my hotel room when I travel on business.
