  Some of us can provide you with a list of excuses for having more than one K2...
  SN#139 has every available option to date and will remain low power for vacations, business trips, Lighthouse weekends where portability (eg, ATU, internal battery) is important.
  SN#583 has been patiently awaiting the KPA100, and will be the main rig at home. Do you really want to swap covers?  
  All other big rigs have been sold off.. another excuse to have 2 K2's since it makes sense to have a spare rig.
  
  BTW, another way to get get a must-melt-solder fix is to build K1's/K2's and/or options for others.
