I use an LDG balun on my K2/K1. with a 40m twin lead dipole. It works great
and is quite compact. The price is $25 kit or $30 wired. Check out:

Incidentally, I worked the North American QSO Party this weekend from our
condo in Mammoth Lakes, CA. I made 150+ contacts on SSB with the K2 and a
Super Antenna C-clamped to the second story balcony railing (metal).
Mammoth Lakes is about 8500', but with 11,000+ mountains around it. 35
states were worked, plus all Canadian Provinces, Curacao, Barbados, St.
John, etc. At 10 watts, the S-readings were generally only about two to
three S-units under what I gave out, with great audio reports using the Heil
mike (which was defective out of the box BTW!). Most contacts were made on
15 and 10m.
Great little radio, that #2195!!
