[Elecraft] Live wire light?

Someone said they used the Live Wire lighting to outline their rig for
night portable operation. So I found some in JD Micro but had to order 8 FT
plus power supply $39. (I was real curious!). It is amazing to light up an
8 ft thin, extremely flexible, clear plastic tubing. (I got the blue
light). My question is how do you, or, can you cut the stuff??? The power
supply, the size of half pack of cgtts sings thus must be a switching
device. High voltage????? Is there neon gas inside the tube????? I received
no info at all in my orderd package. Anybody got a clue?  Thanks...==Mac=
