[Elecraft] Aligning Your K-1 with a Macintosh

N0SS has good instructions for aligning your K-1 with Spectrogram, a PC
based spectrum analyzer. If you "think differently", Spectrogram won't do
much good.

However there are similar programs available for the Mac. Today, I dug
through my archives and found Spectrum Analyzer 1.1.2.1.It is shareware at
$10, 30 day free demo. I used it to align the BFO on the K-1 with a Mac. It
worked great. I suppose you could use it for aligning the K-2 as well

I used off the air noise as a source. I turned off the AGC. Here are the
settings I used to get you started:

Frequency

Resolution 2.692 lHz
linear
start 50 Hz
End 2000 Hz

Amplitude
Logarithmic
from 10 **-20 V**2/ Hz
to 10 **-10 V**2/Hz

In prefereces use 2 V peak to peak

I did all this with a very old 6100/66 and it worked OK. Many years ago I
recall using this program with a Powerbook 170, so it should work on a wide
variety of Macs.

I hope that this helps someone on the list. If so let me know. - Dr.
