Much cleaner than hacking on a complete transceiver is just look at the ads
in back of QST and others, or go to an area swap meet.  I think at EVERY
swap meet I have seen derelict CB (Illegal) amplifiers that could be
converted with added coils for lower bands.  The power supply may need to be
improved but the basics are there.  The case is for amplification not both
receive and transmit so unnecessary controls are gone.

The other common finding at swaps down here are Heath linears, or old
Johnson linears, etc.  Much easier candidate for amplifier for the K2.
