[Elecraft] QSK...

I'm an OF too, and I agree with the OF N0SS. I'll give no lumps to anyone=20
who chooses not to use qsk, but I'll make no such choice. I am delighted=20
the K2 has a decent qsk and I appreciate the efforts Elecraft has made to=20
make it even better. When done at its best, qsk will allow your sidetone=20
to sound just like another signal on the air -- the closest I have found to =

this is with, strangely enough, the little Ten-Tec QRP kit, which has qsk=20
that far surpasses that of its bigger brothers. The K2's qsk is getting=20
there.

Good qsk adds another dimension to a cw qso. Two cw ops who are used to=20
full qsk can converse using cw in a way that is otherwise impossible, even=20
with partial qsk. A lovely interplay occurs that happens naturally and=20
seamlessly, and it is not filled with strings of attention dots. I have not =

encountered a large number of cw ops who have evolved into this state, but=20
it sure is fun when it occurs. qsk also allows you to be fully aware of=20
changing band conditions while you are sending. This makes it possible for =

you to adapt your transmission content to the introduction of qrm or qrn.=20
I wouldn't stay home without it.

best wishes,
